Well, as I recently found out sr20 is way to tell you have pictures to back up what you are saying. Because way back when there was a guy who had the handle of sr20 that said all kinds of crazy shit and even got on the front page with his crazy lies and it turned out everything was a lie. So we use the sr20 saying to say we have proof

He just claimed he owned a Lotus Esprit but never showed proof. It made the front page, it was debunked, he got pardoned and an "oppo meme" was born. (That was 2 years ago, I'd say.)

I know the reason, I just find it very distracting on a site that also talks about sr20 engines on the regular. Anyway, I am totally fine with you using it that way, I just CAN'T STAND IT.

Anyone know what a license plate with just the numeral "2" is about? It's a CT plate and the text at the top reads the usual "Constitution State" and at the bottom I think it's "Exp. Time" or "Exp. Type" or something similar.

I think it's brilliant. I wasn't that deep into oppo/jalopnik 2 years ago, but it's stuff like this that gives a community its own cultural identity.

My take here is we just have to learn to "do as the Romans do". We are latecomers to jalopnik, and rather than impose our own world view it's far more enriching to learn more about the oppo/jalop culture.

I am not a latecomer to Jalopnik. I have been here for at least 5 years, probably a lot longer. And I didn't ask anyone why we do the sr20 thing or tell them to stop (other than you), I just said I can't get used to it. I still can't. And I am still not requiring anyone to stop... except you.
